Katharina Jiménez Weese, AEGEE-Bamberg, Coordinator
Hello LIG fans! I’m Katharina, 23, from the beautiful city of Heidelberg but a member of AEGEE-Bamberg and for the second year one of the moderators of the Language Interest Group. After my Erasmus year in Barcelona I am back in Bamberg finishing my European Economics Bachelor.
I enjoyed so much being coordinator of the LIG and working in this international and multilingual team last year that I couldn’t resist applying once again this year.
Having a German mother and a Catalan father I got in touch and fell in love with different languages from the beginning on. Next to German and Catalan I speak English, Spanish and French.
I am very much looking forward to all the amazing language related activities that will happen in AEGEE this year, to all the wonderful LIG projects which our members are working hard for and to all the language love that is going to be spread around Europe!
Erifyli Evangelou, AEGEE-Athina, Public Relations Responsible
I love our Interest Group and that’s the reason I decided to be part of the Moderators Team for 2nd time. It was awesome to see so many language related activities in our network last year and can’t wait to see even more this year. Moreover it’s always a pleasure to work with our wonderful LiG members and I am sure we will rrrock this term too!
Alvaro Gonzalez Perez, AEGEE-Heidelberg, Projects Coordinator
I’m Álvaro González, 24-years-old Spaniard and proud new Projects Coordinator of the Language Interest Group. I’ve recently finished my Bachelor in English Studies and now I’m taking a gap year in Heidelberg to improve my knowledge on the beautiful (̶u̶n̶g̶l̶a̶u̶b̶l̶i̶c̶h̶ ̶d̶i̶f̶f̶i̶c̶u̶l̶t̶)̶ German language while working. I speak Spanish, Basque, English and as you have already imagined German, and either French or Italian are the next languages on my list. I joined this fantastic Moderators Team after my gratifying experience as main coordinator of the European Day of Languages 2016, mainly because it was my first experience in the European level of AEGEE and I wanted to keep it up. I have to mention though that knowing who were probably going to be my colleagues in the team was indeed a reason to take into consideration at the time I applied, since we all get on really well. During this new year I want to make the LIG shine even brighter than last year by bringing up new ideas and improving all together the fantastic job that has already been done during the past years, and ultimately show how Interest Groups (as many others have already proved) certainly are a robust pillar of what AEGEE represents.
Zografia Lepoura, AEGEE-Athina, Secretary and Human Resources
Hello AEGEE people!
I am Zografia from AEGEE-Athina, soon to turn 20 years old and I am the new Secretary and HR Responsible of the Language Interest Group!
I speak Greek, English, German, Spanish, French and now I am learning Russian! I also study Greek language and Linguistics and Turkish is definitely on my wish list.
I inicially joined the LIG due to my profound love for all language-related things, a love that reaches the limits of obsession and unhealthy dependence as I need to learn at least a little of vocab every day,buy Chinese books even though I don’t speak Chinese, and most importantly listen to ‘Let it Gooooo’ and other Disney masterpieces of exquisite art and finesse in every language imaginable while singing along with my horrible- but surely charming -voice. Due to that love the LIG seemed like the perfect place for me to be, and as the months progressed and I got to know more the other amazing members and participate in projects, I realized I would like to be more active. Hence, I applied for moderator! I hope that we will keep up the amazing work that has been done all these years and also achieve new greater heights.
Feel free to contact the moderators any time!
