Apply now as a member of our Project Team!

Since we started out this summer with a new Team, our Missions have grown increasingly complex and ambitious. As a result, we are looking for one additional member to join our Team in 2016 and support us with fundraising.

Are you interested? Here is all you need to know!

How can I apply?

Please apply here.

The deadline for applications is Saturday, 23 January at 23:59 CET.

Should you have questions concerning the implications of joining our team, feel free to contact us at eop@aegee.org.

We look forward to your application and hope to welcome you to our Team soon!

Who can apply?

Eligible is anyone who:
– is between 18 and 30 (in exceptional cases up to 35) years old;
– lives in Europe or in reasonable proximity to Europe (e.g. Morocco would work; Japan wouldn't);
– has at least basic relevant experience;
– demonstrates an outstanding motivation;
– has enough time to commit.

Nationality is irrelevant!

AEGEE membership is also not a hard criterion. However, priority will be given to AEGEE applicants.

What am I applying for?

Up until now, we have carried out our Missions without any greater financial support. As a result, EOM participants usually had to cover their own costs. It is our ambition to change this!

Our Financial Manager has already developed a tentative roadmap for 2016, but needs help with its implementation and welcomes additional ideas!

As our Team member in charge of Fundraising, you will:
→ research potential sponsors and donors
→ write applications and support letters
→ communicate with established sponsors and donors
→ do the financial planning for Missions

For this task it is desirable that you yourself go on our EOMs as an observer.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to other aspects of our work according to your own interests.

Team member – what does that mean?

Our Project – for a general overview see here – relies 100% on the voluntary commitment of its members. We all enjoy working together for a common aim, and that is what keeps us going. If you feel that this is a context where you can picture yourself, you may just be the right person to join us!

Since our Team is spread literally all over the continent, most of our work is done online from home, by email or Skype. Our workload always depends on the "fever chart" of our Project; when EOMs are approaching, we will have a lot to do, otherwise less. On average, as a Team member you will not have more than 3-4 hours of work per week for the Project.

However, no team can function without a social basis. Therefore we do meet in person on some occasions during the year. Apart from our very EOMs, in which we do of course frequently participate as observers ourselves, we have the bi-annual Agora of AEGEE-Europe where most of us are likely to be present (the next one will take place in Bergamo, Italy, in May).

In particular, we are currently planning an evaluation meeting in Warszawa on January 21st-24th. It is our intention to bring all Team members including the new ones together there to get a proper start to an exciting new year!

What should be noted is that the AEGEE Election Observation Project is a youth initiative. For this reason, applicants should be generally younger than 30 years old. In cases of particularly good applications we may make exceptions for applicants of up to 35 years.

Additionally, we strongly recommend that future Team members who are not AEGEE members sign up for AEGEE membership, which is the condition for Agora participation and eligibility for financial support from AEGEE-Europe, among other things.
