Event description
Do you want to experience a different and unique Summer University?
AEGEE León has the pleasure to present our SU:
On the way of St. James, vol. 3: “Can you feel the end of the World?”.
We want to repeat the succes of last years... but in a better way! Is that possible? Fifteen days full of activities, cultural visits and nature
In this SU, we will visit several cities in the province of León, and walk about 100 km of the Way of St. James departing from Sarria. At the end, we will arrive to Santiago de Compostela, and we will spend some days getting to know the culture, traditions and costums from Galicia, and also visiting the city of A Coruña, where we will be able to rest from the long walking route.
What is The Stars’ Route? The discovery of the Tomb of the Apostle St. James the Greater at the beginning of the 9th century soon brought about a stream of travellers making the pilgrimage to the site, which is today the city of Santiago de Compostela. From the middle of the 20th century, the Way of St. James has been experiencing an international rebirth, which combines its spiritual and socio-cultural tradition with its ability to attract the tourists, and it comes across as a new meeting place opened to all kinds of people and cultures.
