Event description
Would you dare to discover the amazing history of castles? Have you ever dreamed of being a princess/prince? In this event you will have the chance to go back to old times, visiting medieval cities and their fortresses, getting the mood of their streets feeling like a real citizen.

If you want to live the Spanish party, dance and have fun with our "charangas", eating our most typical food like tortilla de patatas, jamón Ibérico, learn how to prepare our famous Sangria or try our amazing white wine ‘Verdejo de Rueda’, then this is your TSU!

And this is not all! You will also be able to do canoeing in ‘Canal de Castilla’, navigate our river, practise open-air sports in connection with nature and participate in the funniest activities that we have planned for you while enjoying the true Mediterranean weather. And if you like dancing, then this is also your event! Our teachers will show you how to dance jotas and sevillanas, typical of our region and the south of Spain.

But we also have more to offer you... Amazing treasure hunting where you would have to conquer the Castle of Peñafiel and rescue the princess... Would you like to be a knight? Or do you prefer to be a princess?

Don’t hesitate and join us in the heart of Spain for the summer of your life! We want an exotic European prince or princess here! But we also accept buffoons, magicians or frogs... up to you!

However, take care who are you kissing in this event, nobody knows who can be a prince or a frog!
Places visited
Madrid
Madrid is the capital of Spain, a wonderful city full of secrets that you will discover! You will explore Madrid, but we will also tell you all about culture from rural Spain: you'll sing, drink, eat, sleep and have fun in a Spain-like culture atmosphere! We will teach you all the aspects about our way of life. You will learn basic-for-surviving Spanish, learn how to prepare our typical meals and drinks and to dance salsa and personal defense! Also there are many people who say that Madrid is the Europe’s capital of night life. We want to let you judge by yourself We will try to show you a great variety of atmospheres. Taverns, pubs, discos... living together in Madrid night
Valladolid
Valladolid is the capital city of the autonomous region of Castile and León in north-western Spain. It has three winegrowing regions: Ribera del Duero, Rueda and Cigales. It has a population of 313,437 people.
The Catholic Monarchs, Isabel I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon, established Valladolid as the capital of the Kingdom of Castile and later of united Spain. Christopher Columbus died in Valladolid in 1506, while authors Francisco de Quevedo and Miguel de Cervantes lived and worked in the city. It was also a cultural centre in the Spanish Renaissance, although a fire in 1561 forced Phillip II to move the capital to Madrid. It briefly returned to Valladolid under Phillip III between 1601 and 1606, before returning indefinitely to Madrid.
Valladolid's Old Town preserves a set composed of historic houses, palaces, churches, plazas, avenues and parks, along with a heritage museum which features the National Museum of Sculpture. Among the events that are held each year in the city include the Valladolid International Film Week (Seminci).
Toledo
A fortified hilltop surrounded by the Tajo river, Toledo was Spain’s capital city, and also served as royal residence of the unified state up to 1560. Simply strolling along its narrow streets is one of the best ways to appreciate this place. By doing so, one can capture its mood, as the city architecture reflects the many influences and cultures presents through his long history. It’s the city of the three religions, and once provided a rare example of Muslims, Jews, and Christians living side by side, but after the Moors were rejected, and if became a centre of the
Catholic Spain’s intolerance. We’ll visit all that they have let us, cathedrals, synagogues, and mosques. Also is Toledo a city crowded of legends, magic, and histories. And amazing atmosphere that is reinforced with the morphology of its twisted streets, the narrow passages and the stone flooring!!!
Segovia
Segovia is Spain at its best-twisting alleyways, the highest concentration of Romanesque churches in all of Europe, pedestrian streets where no cars are allowed, the aroma of roast suckling pig around every corner - all surrounded by the city's medieval wall which itself is bordered by two rivers and an extensive green-belt park with miles of shaded walks. On the northwest extreme of the wall is the famous Alcázar castle, source of inspiration to Walt Disney, and where Queen Isabel promised Columbus the financial backing he needed to discover America. On the south-east extreme is the world renowned Roman Aqueduct, the largest and best preserved of its kind anywhere, which served as the mintmark on all coins struck in the city from 1455 to 1864. The tallest building in Segovia is still the 16th-century Cathedral, a prominent landmark.
Peñafiel
Peñafiel is a small village with a lot of history. It has passed through centuries which have left unforgettable footprints like the castle, Plaza del Coso (Main Square and bull fighting arena!) or Torre del Reloj (Clock tower). Every corner in this land has been strongly recorded by the inhabitants, and if Peñafiel is wonderful now, is because of them.
