Results and Final Conference

The final conference, which will take place in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) from the 28th until the 2nd of May 2001 (Homepage of the Conference), will gather the results of the Borderless Europe project. The participants will mainly work in study groups of 15 to 20 people. The study groups will discuss and evaluate the results of the activities which were organised in the frame of the project, concentrating either on one of the thematic columns of the project (I. State Borders - Origin, Present and Future; II. Mental Borders; III. Visa; IV. Mobility in Higher Education; V. Mobility of Labour) or on specific types of activities, for example, the Borderless Europe Rally, the Case Study Trips, the Cross-Border Co-operations.

The study groups will analyse and evaluate the results, discuss them with experts and prepare the conclusions for the results brochure (and/or the results CD-Rom). Moreover, they will prepare opinion papers on topics they regard as most important. Throughout the programme there will be short interventions: teambuilding games will be used to create a team spirit in the study groups, and artistic workshops will be used to relax the participants' minds and to stimulate their creativity in between intensive study sessions.

The conference will be concluded with a plenary session in which the results of the different study groups are presented and discussed. A number of representatives of national and international institutions, politicians, journalists, representatives of the private sector, representatives of NGOs and other European decision-makers will be invited to take part in the final discussion.
