The European Students' Forum: AEGEE We in AEGEE are Corinne, European Affairs student from Valletta, Teemu, studying chemistry at the University of Turku in Scandinavia, as well as Marcus, law student from Paris and Muenchen yet born in Beirut, and Saad, originally from Basra but about to finish a mathematics course in Delft. And many more. AEGEE unites us in a politically independent, non-governmental European student forum. Our members at present number 20,000 in more than 250 European university cities from Oviedo, Spain to Helsinki, Finland. Our common aim is to bring together fellow students and young people in Europe. We encourage travel and mobility, stimulating discussion and organising common projects on topics related to the exact meaning of our European identity and the shaping of our common future on this continent. We do so through conferences, Summer Universities and even leisure events hosted by AEGEE's local branches. Our overall attempt is to overcome any national or cultural divisions that may exist and to put the idea of European integration into practice by taking it into our own hands and according to our expectations. Our aims are thereby supported by our patrons Václav Havel, Michael Gorbachev and Catherine Lalumière (MEP), amongst other European personalities who themselves have been, and still are, committed to a better understanding among the peoples of this continent. More detailed information about AEGEE can be found under http://www.aegee.org.
