    AEGEE's Balkan Strategy
    Meeting I
    took place  22 - 25 August 1999

The meeting has been a very
good opportunity for people interested to get known to each other. It was a chance for
those active to present their ideas and approaches. Together we could win a better
overview on things going on in the past and presently.
    One basic point for AEGEE
must be not to work about the region but to work in and with the region. For this reason
two points are essential: AEGEE must try expand to the areas which are just "white
spots" on our maps. And projects can only be developed and conducted in dialogue of
people from there and from other parts of the continent.
The meeting has been a good start - not
more and not less. Now our task must be to continue the work (re-)started there and to
    lead it towards concrete results.
