Information for Host Locals

Have you ever wondered how to make a difference? Do you want to give your input into creating democratic Europe? Have you ever thought of working on one of the most idealistic AEGEE-Europe projects?

If any of the answers to those questions is ‘yes!’ then you are in the right place. When being a part of Education for Democracy AEGEE-Europe project you can contribute to overcoming prejudices and breaking stereotypes by giving students from South-Eastern Europe a chance to experience life in other countries, in democratic and pluralistic societies.

No other way of involving into EfD project than becoming a Host Local will give you so immense satisfaction and will make you realize what this project was actually created for. Soon, you will be able to download the Host Local Kit; this will comprise all information you will need this year to successfully contribute to Education for Democracy.

What do we gain from being a Host Local?

First of all, it is a very simple way to get in touch with the European level of AEGEE. You will get a lot of support from the Host Local Coordinator. Second, it gives you a good opportunity to show to the university the good work AEGEE does; it is a very concrete project which the university (or another external contact) can contribute to. Third, and maybe the most important, is a good experience for the persons involved. Knowing that you are doing it for one or more persons, it will give you a lot of satisfaction.

What are the responsibilities of a Host Local?

Although EfD team will support the Host Local as much as we can, the Host Local bears almost all responsibility for its own scholarships. Your responsibilities comprise:
