On the 2nd of October 2022, Bosnia and Herzegovina is holding its general elections. Also this year the Agora Election Observation Project is sending a mission to observe those elections. For this, we are now searching for Volunteers/Interpreters to support our deployment. If you are interested in the topic of youth engagement in elections and in election observation, we encourage you to join our team now as Volunteer/Interpreter! For this position, we need individuals residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who are familiar with the country or one of its regions. Besides that, Volunteers/Interpreters are asked to support the mission in the following aspects:

  • Interpretation: English and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian to help observers communicate on the election day;
  • Logistical support (not mandatory): help with travel arrangements across the country, as well as with input on the local context; host or suggest accommodation solutions

Agora Election Observation´s mission is composed of 24 young international observers and 3 Coordinators from all over Europe, who will be deployed in different locations throughout the country from the 28th of September until the 4th of October. Volunteers/Interpreters are deployed only for the election weekend itself (1st and 2nd of October 2022). On the 1st of October, they meet their international observers in their designated region/city. The international observers are deployed in groups of two usually gender-balanced and are appointed to one Volunteer/Interpreter. In case there are many Volunteers in one city/region Volunteers can also work in shifts.

Applications for areas outside of Sarajevo are currently especially demanded.

All interpreters will receive a certificate of participation proving their successful contribution to the Mission to the Bosnian General Elections.
