The mystery of Transylvanian (k)nights

Organized by AEGEE-Cluj-Napoca

The mystery of Transylvanian (k)nights Profile Picture
The greatest battle of all times is starting to unfold in Transylvania, where days of heroes and legends await. The adventure it set to begin with dragons, fairies and brave knights, but Count Dracula has bewitched our creatures and our magical land. 35 brave warriors are expected to train and prepare themselves for the ultimate adventure.
You will fight for your house, in order to defeat those that threaten the happiness of your heart. But be warned, many challenges await: hiking, room escaping, adventure park, treasure hunting, medieval tournaments, feasts and till-the-morning-royal-parties. Bring all the courage and energy that you have, this adventure is here to show you another side of Romania. We will experiment the authentic Romanian culture through cuisine, art and history, and explore the medieval side of Transylvania.

Join US in our mission and show your heroism and your legendary party moves, while being surrounded by the Carpathian paradise and its ancient tales. We'll conquer together the lands of Cluj-Napoca, Alba-Iulia, Sibiu, Brasov, Sighisoara and those of the Apuseni mountains, boosting ourselves with throat-burning "water of life and death" so that we are not to die in combat with the beast.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Cluj-Napoca

Cluj-Napoca, the unofficial capital of Transylvania and the European Youth Capital in 2015, is the gathering point of young knights and ladies who want to change the world. The city can bewitch you in no time with its baroque architecture, bohemian café society and vibrant nightlife. There are over 100.000 brave students living here because of the city’s well-known universities and business opportunities.

Apuseni Mountains

Apuseni Mountains it’s a no-man’s land, unique in its landscapes, dotted with caves and forested trails, with a world of subterranean rivers and a 3500-year-old underground glacier. Fresh air, peace and silence, are the main spells that can heal the wounds of brave warriors who fight each day in crowded cities.

Sibiu

Designated European Capital of Culture in 2007, Sibiu retains the grandeur of its earlier days when rich and powerful guilds dominated regional trade. The famous Bridge of Lies and the old city center, lined with colorful houses on cobblestone streets make Sibiu one of the most fascinating and romantic medieval cities in Romania, so we expect knights to gently propose to their ladies here.

Brasov

Fringed by the peaks of the Carpathian Mountains and filled with gothic, baroque and renaissance architecture, the medieval city of Brasov is closely linked to Bran Castle, known for the Dracula myth, and Peles Castle, considered to be one of the most beautiful castles in Europe. This is where our army will polish its skills and prepare for the great battle ahead.

Sighisoara

Transylvania is also home to the exquisite medieval town of Sighisoara, a perfectly intact 15th century gem with nine towers, narrow passageways and cobbled streets, burgher houses and ornate churches. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sighisoara is also the birthplace of Vlad Draculea, nicknamed Vlad the Impaler (Vlad Tepes), ruler of Walachia. Are you ready to finally meet this notorious character?
