Cyprus - The Mediterranean island at the crossroads of three continents, where there’s always a new world to discover. Where East meets West and a new experience awaits for you under the sun everyday. Where inviting beaches, and breathtaking mountain trails lie around historically enriched medieval cities.
After a year break, AEGEE Mağusa is back for the Summer 2016!
Those of you who joined our SU or any of our events in the previous years know how far we go to ensure that our participants experience
the best of what Cyprus has to offer.
This year will not be any different, yet it will be even better than the previous years.
There will be 10 days & nights of fun and adventure filled with sea, sun, culture and tasty Cypriot food.
Your energy will be tested throughout the day at the beach, on top of the mountains and at night while practicing your Cyprus folk dance skills with your fellow Cypriot AEGEEans.
You will walk the footsteps of the kings and queens of Cyprus, the Crusaders and feel the heartbeat of the medieval City of Famagusta - once the richest city in the World, Nicosia - the Capital of our beautiful island and Kyrenia where the mountains meet the sea.
When we feel hot under the bronzing sun, we get to take a dip in the cooling Mediterranean and make sand castle challenges on the impressive golden-coloured sandy beaches.
There are A LOT of things to explore on this island that cannot be explained here. So, simply if you want to enjoy a historical, sea and sun filled tour around Aphrodite’s Cyprus, experience the bests of Cyprus, apply to AEGEE Mağusa SU 2016 and become of the lucky lions in the Mediterranean.
See, feel and experience the culturally and historically rich Island of Cyprus, enjoy what the sandy beaches and the Mediterranean Sea has to offer.
Home of AEGEE Mağusa!
Famagusta is a town on the eastern coast of the island with modern and medieval characters.
Our base during the SU will be on campus of the Eastern Mediterranean University.
During our days in Famagusta, we will be visiting the Walled City, learn about the historic monuments within the walls built by the Venetians, e.g. Othello Castle where Shakespeare's Othello was staged. Sandy beaches along the coast of Famagusta will be our second home during some of the days for relaxed and enjoyable moments during the event.
NicosiaNicosia, just like every other city in Cyprus is surrounded by beautiful Venetian-made walls. During our visit to the capital, we will be exploring the side streets of this medieval city, enjoy some shopping time in the bustling bazaar streets and visit spectacular cathedrals and inns where people used to frequent with their camels for a break on their journeys
KyreniaWith its medieval harbour, we will be staying in Kyrenia during the SU for the yacht tour and hiking activities. We will get the chance to enjoy the breath-taking views from on top of the mountains and see the long stretch of the Five Finger Mountain Range/Beşparmak Dağları/Pentatachtylos
KarpazThe very thin "pan handle" look-alike part of the island where the top-secret beauties along with the wild donkeys await us.
Perfectly crystal clear sea and golden sandy stretch of beach is hidden at this end of the island. You will be feeling blessed once you get the opportunity to dip into these waters as the holy site of St Andrews (Apostolos Andreas) is just around the corner. Don't forget to pack some cucumbers in your bag to feed the donkeys as they won't unblock the road unless they receive from us something to eat :)
