Living the green age: Battle of the lowlands Profile Picture
Has it always been your dream to visit the lowlands of Belgium and the Netherlands? Ride a bike from city to city, with a beer in hand? Learning practical ways how to live sustainable in our Green age? Well, this is your chance! Come and join us this summer in our big adventure and discover how to live sustainably, explore the green fields, try the green stuff, play the battle for the green, and eventually upgrade your living into one that fits into a modern age, the green age! Bring your battle axe though, cause it won’t be a peaceful ride…

You’ll start off our journey in Belgium in the city of , a historic student city and capital of beer, where you have the chance to experience some Belgian wonders and learn about the Belgian beer culture. You get the opportunity to taste the real Belgian chocolate, waffles and fries. You go on day trips visiting the beautiful cities of Ghent and Bruges. In Brussels we’ll be in the heart of Europe and a stop at the AEGEE house will be made. To get to Eindhoven, you will hitchhike across the border to the Netherlands.

In Eindhoven you’ll get your own bike and we'll teach you the secrets of cycling. Together we go on a journey so you can experience the benefits of this green transportation for the remaining weeks of the event. For a day we even cross borders again and take you through the green fields to visit an Abbey where monks still live and brew beer. Yes, simultaneous drinking and cycling is accepted over here ;). We’ll teach you how to live sustainable without much effort, and test your knowledge in a Pub Quiz!

Between Eindhoven and Utrecht lies the lovely city of Den Bosch. Here we will be going on a treasure hunt to find the paintings and sculptures of one of the most famous Dutch artists, before cycling to a chill spot near a lake. Need some time to relax after all those battles and beers? We’ve got you. Bbq-ing and swimming is the perfect way to relax in the Dutch summer. Here we will also visit an eco-camel farm to learn all about these fluffy animals. The bravest among the warriors can even learn how to ride a camel into battle…

And then finally, we will travel to Utrecht. Under the watchful eye of the massive Dom-Tower, the battle of the Lowlands will reach its epic conclusion in Utrecht. Here you will transform yourself into a bubble and roll your way to victory. When you finally stopped rolling, it is time to release your inner dragon and learn how breath fire to spread around the green dream! Your hot throat will be cooled by the fresh beer and singing at the infamous Cantus! Since warriors are known for their huge appetite, you will learn about how to prevent food waste and be a green masterchef. Oh, and did we mention the amazing themed parties and a day in Amsterdam yet?

You will be divided into teams, battling each other in fun outside games and challenges. Everyday will be a new adventure! Are you ready for two weeks of battle, learning about our local culture, amazing foods and themed parties? This will be the perfect TSU for you!
