Into the Waves: The Battle for Atlantis

Open Call! No italians

Organized by AEGEE-Las Palmas

Into the Waves: The Battle for Atlantis Profile Picture
Plato spoke of Atlantis as the most advanced people of humanity, full of riches and wisdom. The inhabitants of the lost continent -as also known as Atlantis-, degenerated into all kinds of perversions over the centuries and Zeus punished them in the course of a night causing a great cataclysm by which Atlantis disappeared. According to the legend, the Canary Islands are considering the peaks of Atlantis. But the temples and their palaces were under the waters of the ocean that would take her name; The Atlantic ocean. This would be one of the existing legends about Atlantis, since there are several theories regarding the final situation of the Lost Continent.
Leave behind all your worries and start training your warrior and swimming skills! You will wake up everyday in the lost continent surrounded by water, while the breeze of the sea kindly touches your skin and your pockets fill up with sand and salty memories.
Immerse yourself in an adventure of gods with us and discover our little paradise.

Las Palmas city

City center and ancient part of our capital

dunes of Maspalomas beach

Pico de las nieves

Is the highest peak of the island of Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. Its height is 1,949 metres (6,394 ft) above sea level. The origin is volcanic (stratovolcano). On its slopes, Canary Islands Pine was reintroduced in the 1950s. It is the highest elevation of the province of Las Palmas and the third highest mountain in the Canary Islands. Of the other Canary Islands, only Tenerife and La Palma have higher peaks.

Vegueta was the founding nucleus of the city, the place where in 1478 the troops of the conqueror Juan Rejón erected the Real de las Palmas, the name that would be received from the palm trees that rose in the place. It was the first Castilian site in the Atlantic, as well as the place where the Crown of Castile initiated the Conquest of the Canary Islands.
The neighborhood owes its name to the fertile plain that extended around the Real de las Palmas, called "La Vegueta de Santa Ana". From then on it would be the center of political, religious and administrative life on the island.

Las Canteras beach

The beach of Las Canteras is the main urban beach of the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Gran Canaria, Canary Islands). Frequented throughout the year, it is the beach preferred by most of the city's inhabitants and foreigners who visit it, who can enjoy it at any time of the year thanks to the mild climate.
