Privacy Statement version 2019

Privacy principles

AEGEE-Europe stores your personal data for your application to Summer Universities, and only uses your personal data for this purpose;
You have the right to request all personal data we store about you. You can do so by writing to suct@aegee.org.
You have the right to withdraw the permission to store your data. Please keep in mind that this will cancel your application. Exceptions to this rule can be made as mentioned below.

Data processing

Your data will be stored in a database upon application;
Your data will be available in the database for you, the board of your local, the boards of the antennae to whose SU you applied and the Summer University Coordination Team (including the responsible Comité Directeur member);
The local organisers reserve the right to utilise the data of the participants solely and exclusively for the purposes directly related to the arrangements in the organisation of the Summer University.
Your data shall be deleted or anonymized latest 30th November 2019;
It will never be given to other people than mentioned above.

Disclaimer

Participants of the project agree to:

AEGEE (Association des États Généraux des Étudiants de l’Europe) members organize the Summer University Project for their members, students and young people from all faculties and disciplines. AEGEE is a non-governmental, politically independent, and non-profit organisation formed by volunteers.

By applying for participation in the Summer University Project, I freely and voluntarily agree with the following terms:
1. Organisers: I know that AEGEE is not a travel agency and Summer University organisers are not professionals. They are students and volunteers who are not paid for their work and who invest their leisure time to make this project possible.
2. Waiver and Release: I shall not claim any damages or liability against the organisers of the Summer University I participate, nor the organising AEGEE Local, the Summer University Coordination Team or AEGEE-Europe for any personal injury, illness, death or damage of property which I, the participant, may suffer prior, during or after the Summer University.
I agree that the organisers of the Summer University, the organising AEGEE Local and AEGEE-Europe do not bear any liability or obligation to provide financial or other assistance, including, but not limited to, medical, health, or disability insurance, in the event of injury, illness, death or damage of property. I hereby acknowledge that I have been informed of my responsibility and obligations regarding the health insurance prior to attending the event by the organisers of the Summer University.
3. Theft, damage or loss of items: I, the Participant, agree that the organisers of the Summer University I participate in, the AEGEE Local and AEGEE-Europe are not liable and will not be held liable financially and/or otherwise for any theft, loss or damage of any items in my possession for the duration of my participation in the project. The organisers of the Summer University, the AEGEE Local and AEGEE-Europe shall not be held responsible of any property left without the supervision of its owner during my stay.
4. Pictures: All participants grant an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide non-exclusive license to AEGEE locals and AEGEE-Europe, to reproduce, distribute, display and create derivative works of the pictures taken during a Summer University in connection with the association and promotion of itself, in any media now or hereafter known. AEGEE locals and AEGEE-Europe will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such use. Additionally each participant grants to the AEGEE locals and AEGEE-Europe the unrestricted right to use all pictures or likenesses of participants at their sole discretion. Moreover I agree that any picture taken of me during the Summer University can be uploaded to the AEGEE Photo Database and might be used in AEGEE's PR material in the future.
5. Data Privacy: I, the Participant, agree with the Privacy Statement of the Summer University Project, available on our website. I hereby acknowledge that i have read and fully understood this statement.
6. Other: I, the Participant, shall be liable, financially and otherwise, to recover all damages caused by myself, the Participant, during my stay for the Summer University. I acknowledge that all my personal data stated above and in the registration form are true. I acknowledge that I have valid identity documents required for my stay in the country where the Summer University is taken.

This website’s purpose is to provide you with information on AEGEE Summer Universities and our available course. While every effort has been made to ensure the information presented within this website was correct at the date of publication, the contents are subject to review, conditions and change from time to time.

Final word

Country of data processing is The Netherlands;
Dutch law is fully applicable to this database;
Access to your data can be forced by Dutch court decision. AEGEE-Europe will fully cooperate with the legal authorities by decision of Dutch court;
AEGEE-Europe does its utmost best to protect your data, although they cannot be held responsible for unauthorized access outside its control (including, but not limited to hacking, theft of hardware and eavesdropping).

This version of the privacy statement will be valid until the 30th of November 2019. The current version will always be available at the web page of the Summer University webpage of the according year.
