The Ionian battle: Gods verSUs Mortals Profile Picture
What do Ionian islands and Olympic Gods have in common? Their summer resort or a new battlefield? This summer is expected to be tricky both for The Twelve and for mortals. The Apple of Discord? The domination over the Ionian Sea! A continuous chase will take place in Western Greece. Fortresses, oracles, secret caves of mythical creatures and shipwrecks will turn into shelters for the scared or battlefields for the brave. Stories about love and suicide will be exposed and people's peaceful lives will be threatened. The battle begins from Ioannina, the silver city by the lake. Through daily excursions we will discover the beauty of the surrounding areas and raft along the deepest gorge in the world! The rest of the program takes place in some of the most famous Ionian islands. First on the list is Lefkada with its amazing blue coasts and interesting myths. After that we are visiting Kefalonia, an island full of colorful villages with a mysterious kind of beauty, home of the Nymphs according to greek mythology. Last but not least it's Zante, with its crystal clear waters and the famous Shipwreck beach. During the whole program boat trips will take place to smaller islands, like Ithaca, Odysseus home, and other hidden beaches of the Ionian islands. Can you handle Gods' secret lives? Whose side will you take? Are you ready for the ultimate greek summer experience?

Ioannina

One of the biggest and most beautiful cities in Greece with the famous Pamvotis lake. The lake is associated with myths and legends, with Ali Pasha and Lady Efrosin and with secret passages leading to the city castle, according to traditional rumors. Ioannina is also a city full of students and young people. Bars and local small restaurants (called “tsipouradika”) offer at any time a good taste of greek culture.

From Ioannina, we’re going to visit some of the beautiful and famous Zagorohoria. A complex of 46 small villages spreading on the mountains above the city, known for their physical beauty and unique architecture. They offer a big variety of excursions and activities, that leave all the visitors speechless. Our program there includes trekking across Vikos canyon (the deepest canyon worldwide, according to Guinness Book!), rafting and swimming at the cold water of the river.

Dodoni/ Parga

Dodoni archaeological site contains the sanctuary of Dodoni which had a major spiritual place in ancient Greece. It was the oldest of the Greek oracles and ancient people traveled great distances in order to consult the priests who foretold the future.
Parga is a village by the Ionian Sea with unique turquoiz waters and colorful alleys that lead to the port.

Lefkada

Lefkada is the fourth biggest island of the Ionian Sea. Every summer are being organized Music and Dance Festivals as well as Extreme Sports Festivals, since its long sandy coasts offer that possibility. In Leukada, we will have the chance to swim at Kathisma, a huge beach with crystal blue waters that attracts thousands of people every summer. Some of the most famous beaches in Greece, like Porto Katsiki and Egkremnoi, are located in Lefkada. Finally, Nidri, Poros and Vasiliki have plenty of restaurants and bars, in which people party till the sun comes out!

Kefalonia

Kefalonia is the biggest and probably the most beautiful island of the Ionian Sea. It is no coincidence, that the famous film “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” (with Nicolas Cage and Penelope Cruz) was filmed in this location!
The traditional port Fiskardo, the famous Myrtos Beach, the top of the mountain Ainos and the secret Melissani Cave indicate that Kefalonia is the King of the Ionian Sea. Sounds too good to be true? Well, come and see for yourselves!

Zante

In the past, Zante was given the name ‘’Flor di levanter’’ (flower of the East) because due to it’s location, was a target for many conquerors in the past. Nowadays, Zante is an island full of life, with beaches and sceneries that will take your breath away, embodying the dreams of every traveler! 9km south from the city center, Laganas is the most famous place in Zante. Lagana’s beach, known for the sandy beach and the crystal clear waters is also one of the last shelters of the sea turtle Caretta Caretta. Also, Laganas in known for the busy nightlife! Last but certainly not least, is Nauagio. You may also find it as “The cavity of smugglers” and it’s the most famous beach on the island if not in whole Greece. Its story goes back 20 years ago, when an illegal transport of cigarettes shipwrecked and flooded to the beach creating Nauagio, which you can access only by boat
