This area has been a political and cultural center for more than 2000 years and has been under the sovereignty of many different European states. It is internationally famous for its wine region called the “Pfalz”. In addition, it is home to many German breweries, famous for Frankfurt's “Ebbelwoi” (a kind of Cider) and Heidelberg's melon liquor. So you don’t have to fear a lack of good drinks either! By the way: The Rhein-Neckar region is called the “Tuscany of Germany”, as this is the warmest place in the country.
