AEGEE seminar "Sustainable SCANdinavia" explored the sustainability in Denmark

7 April 2009, Copenhagen

A seminar on sustainable lifestyles of Danes and Denmark took a place in Copenhagen, from 30th March to 5th April, organized by the European Students` Forum (AEGEE). It was attended by 30 students from nine European countries, interested in sustainability and environmental issues.

It started with official opening ceremony and welcoming speech by Executive Climate Officer of The city of Copenhagen, Cristina Angelskov, and followed by lectures, workshops and case studies held by representatives from University of Copenhagen and European Environmental Agency, as well as members of Environmental Working Group and Sustaining Our Future Project of AEGEE. Seminar content covered following topics: climate change, renewable energy, recycling and waste management, organic food and fair trade. More than raising environmental awareness and getting knowledge on topics mentioned above, the aim of the seminar was to present participants practical examples of sustainable lifestyles that they could implement in their home countries.

The event was supported by Youth in Action programme (Danish Agency Cirius).
