The concept behind ‘Youth in the Frontline’ stems from the two successful workshops lead by the Youth & Globalisation Project Team held in the year 2005 during AEGEE-Europe’s General Assembly (a meeting of around 800-1000 students from across Europe referred to as Agora) taking place in May 2005 in the Dutch city of Enschede and in the Turkish city of Izmir last October.
It emerged very clearly that the young citizens of today are highly concerned about the Future of Europe, particularly in light of the globalised changes in security, economic development and the state of the environment that we are witnessing daily. Therefore, the seminar “Youth in the Frontline“ seeks to provide young european citizens with a forum within which they can come together to discuss and establish an idea of how we, the european youth, can influence our future by working together with adult NGOs and foster the idea that we are important actors in building a sustainable and secure world. PARTIES INVOLVED – COMMUNICATION STRATEGY In close collaboration with our partner organisations, the Youth & Globalisation Project Team in conjunction with AEGEE-Praha aims to raise awareness that we as European youths are also citizens and that the present and the future of the entire Community thoroughly belongs and depends on us. Therefore we are willing to organize this Seminar in order to change our future and spread the idea of active european citizens to as many young people as possible.
